  Nicaragua
Description
Crops flourish on the rich, volcanic soil of Nicaragua in the valleys adjacent to a range with 40 volcanoes—some of which are active. Despite political problems, communication difficulties, and inefficient technology, the Seventh-day Adventist Church has witnessed steady growth. The primary goal is to preach the gospel by whatever means are available, especially taking advantage of the many natural disasters which strike the republic. Sixty percent of the evangelistic work is done by women and youth, Adventist World Radio, the educational system, and ADRA seed planters. The greatest challenge is the training of laypersons to administer the churches.
