  Italy
Description
Second only to Greece in terms of ancient history, Italy is one of Europe's youngest unified states. Birthplace of the Roman Catholic Church and the Renaissance, it is also known for its tilting Pisa Tower, the spectacular Amalfi coast, the cliffs of Volterra, the Apuan Alps, its invention of opera, and its high literacy standards. Italy's musical heritage is used by Seventh-day Adventist youth groups dedicated to evangelism. Many Adventists are also active in prison ministries. Future evangelistic plans call for broader use of radio and television and a consistent personal witness by each member. Adventist World Radio has long operated a station at Forli and holds property at Argenta for a major broadcast center to blanket the "10/40 Window."
