  Finland
Description
Finland, "Land of Lakes and Marshes," is the sixth largest and one of the most northerly countries in Europe. Its 60,000 lakes cover about one-tenth of the area and are linked by extensive river systems. The Seventh-day Adventist population in this largely Lutheran society is aging, the average age being 55 years—despite a government-recognized Junior College which has a radio/television production center. Four church schools, also acknowledged by the government, are available for the church's youth. Women throughout Finland are recognized as the Bible workers, and many served as pastors during and after World War II. Satellite television is an innovative ministry being utilized today.
