  Denmark
Description
Smallest of the Scandinavian countries, Denmark enjoys possibly the highest standard of living among European nations. Bordering with Germany on the Jutland Peninsula, Denmark claims the islands of Fyn, Langeland, Sjaelland and Bornholm in the straits surrounding it. Home of Lego building blocks, the nation is 97 percent Lutheran. A monthly magazine begun for Scandinavians in the United States of America made the first impressions for Seventh-day Adventists. Membership growth was steady until the mid-1950's, when it began a declining trend. Still in operation is a junior college which has a radio-television production center. There is a publishing house as well as two retirement homes.
