  Chile
Description
Unusual in shape, Chile is little more than 100 miles east-to-west but more than 2,600 miles from north-to-south--reaching just about 600 miles short of Antarctica. Easter Island, 2,300 miles west into the Pacific Ocean, was annexed in 1888. Seventh-day Adventists are long on evangelism outreach as well, utilizing especially the broad reach of radio. Three AM/FM radio stations--one a Chile Adventist University--are complemented by smaller stations. Individuals, especially women and youth, are assisting with community services and hospital visitation, as well as lay evangelism. Youth stage witnessing marches, and each medical institution has goals for ministry. Publications, which first introduced the message, support personal work.
