  South Africa
Description
Without a doubt its 50-year policy of separate cultural development has influenced the steady-though-not-phenomenal growth of South Africa. Language diversity has also been a challenge. The nation has today 11 official languages. Since healing has come to the South African people, their greatest growth potential is involvement of youth and young adults. Of the 10,000 enrolled in about 40 schools and colleges, half are not yet Seventh-day Adventists. Satellite evangelism will be expanded over the next five years to add to the mentionable growth brought through the Voice of Prophecy and prison ministry. ADRA is being activated. Challenging these potentials to growth are sophistication and apathy. Nonetheless, "with such an army of youth" they see God's Adventist family increased in the nine provinces of South Africa where 68 percent are Christian and 29 percent are animists.
