  Yemen
Description
The republic of Yemen was created in 1990 when part of the southern coast of the Arabian Peninsula which faces the Red Sea and the area facing the Gulf of Aden were reunited. Once part of the kingdom of Sheba whose Queen bore gifts to King Solomon, Yemen submitted to the rule of Muhammad in the first century, and the inhabitants began to adopt Islamic values. Today the vast majority of Yemenis are Muslim Arabs. They have signed an agreement with ADRA which continues a welfare presence. In the past, Yemenis have also allowed an antismoking clinic to be held in their capital city of Sana.
