  Indonesia
Description
This republic forms a long island bridge between Asia and Australia. Its archipelago of 13,677 islands—6,000 of them inhabited—extends 3,200 miles, close to or on the equator, from Sumatra in the west to West Papua in the east. Indonesia represents a union of diverse and often conflicting cultures. Although it is difficult to build churches in Muslim communities, the Seventh-day Adventist family continues to grow in Indonesia. Three out of four members are under the age of 30, partially because of witnessing from 198 schools and three hospitals. Adventist World Radio and ADRA play their part; and women and youth are active in public evangelism, health expos, and weeks of prayer on school and medical facility campuses.
