  Colombia
Description
In northwest South America and having a short frontier with Panama, Colombia has a rich colonial heritage but is plagued by internal strife. This republic has an Amerindians minority who have as many as 400 different people groups. ASI institutions are training laypersons to assist the Seventh-day Adventist Church in health and preaching ministries. Church members also assist the clergy in evangelism, as they face the challenge of lingering communism. ADRA and Global Mission initiatives, coupled with satellite programs, are contributing to Adventist witness.
